Hey, I'm Sam.
I'm a product designer originally from San Diego, California.
For the last two years I led design and frontend at MJ Technologies, shipping six client MVPs across edtech, fintech, and enterprise software. Before that I co-founded a startup, managed a localization effort as an associate PM, and worked on various freelance projects.
I studied Cognitive Science at Brown University.
I'm currently working as a design consultant, working with early-stage teams on 0→1 product design and frontend.

1 of the original 5 team members. Led end-to-end design and frontend for six client MVPs as the company scaled from $12K to $1.5M in revenue. Left a stronger designer, frontend developer, and product manager. Arguably my most rewarding experience.
2022 → 2023
Worked with a web of internal and external vendors to localize materials across five languages. Lots of emails and Zoom calls. Taught me how to align stakeholders who don't share context, timelines, or incentives.
2022
Short stint. I learned to think about distribution as part of the product, not an afterthought. Got comfortable with cold outreach and pitching to customers on LinkedIn.
2022 → 2023
Built various events products that have been featured in the Boston Globe. Taught me the hardest lessons of my career. About repeat-use behavior, organizer workflows, and the gap between a product people try and a product people return to.
2020
Spent the summer in Rhode Island. Wore every hat for those eight weeks. Learned how to build and get out of my comfort zone.
2015 → 2019
Studied how people think, decide, and make meaning. I still design from that frame. Would spend my time in my dorm or on the green.
I work on small experimental projects to keep busy; recently LoMA, and RealityCMS. I enjoy reading about design, finding open source fonts, and helping others whenever I can.
